Simple Cute Cards

I love simple and everyone loves cute. Therefore I love simple cute cards. Certainly, a hedgehog holding a flower is cute, don’t you agree?

You can give simple cute cards at anytime, but this sentiment suits a birthday very well too.

Technique: making a stamp multicolour

For instance, the mushrooms are all on one stamp. So how do you get different colours on one stamp? Use Stampin’ Write markers! To clarify, use the markers, NOT the blends! The Stampin’ Blends are alcohol based and will not work on stamps but they work beautifully to colour on cardstock.

So, grab the mushroom stamp from the Hedgehugs stamp set (w-145876 c-145879) and your Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker (147155). Secondly, you want to colour only the top of the mushrooms with the red, laying a fair bit of colour on the stamp. After that, you want to take your Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker (147155) and colour the stems and grass. When you get more proficient, you could even colour the stems with Early Espresso and the grass with Shaded Spruce.

However, the most important step of this technique is to re-moisten the stamp and ink by huffing on it. In other words, imagine steaming up a mirror and do the same on the stamp.

Why would you want to do that?? I am glad you asked. The markers do not lay as much ink on the stamp as a Classic Stampin’ Pad would do plus it takes longer than just pressing on an ink pad. Therefore, the ink dries up a little bit. Hence, the huffing on it to re-moisten. Makes sense?

In conclusion, you can use that technique on any stamp you want to have several colours.
