I love this birthday card ideas for friend because it is simple and can be used for a man or a woman. Your colour scheme can make a lot of difference for this card.
First you want to choose your patterned paper as it will determine your colour scheme. In this example, I used the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper (146338) from Stampin’ Up! This particular piece has Rich Razzleberry and Grapefruit Grove so I cut it first at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Then I cut off the top at an angle.
There are many beautiful designs on this paper and cutting it at an angle adds this “je ne sais quoi” to the card. I got this idea from a card sketch and wanted to try it.
Then you will want to adhere this piece to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock (115316). Before you pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) on your card base, you will want to wrap and adhere the Velvet Ribbon (147016). I love this ribbon as it is so classy!
Now for the greeting. You can use any greeting you have on hand. I chose the simple “Happy Birthday” from Amazing Life stamp set (148750) and stamped it in grapefruit grove ink. Then I punched it out with the Classic Label punch (141491). To mat it, I adhered it to a 1/2″ piece of grapefruit grove cardstock and trimmed with ends with scissors. It is popped on the card with dimensionals.
