We all have old scrapbook paper in our stash! Imagine the satisfaction of using it all up. I don’t know about you but I get a big sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when something get finished up.
When I have used up all my old scrapbook paper, I know that it was a good purchase. Now I feel free to get new patterns that I will love and use up. Occasionally, I will get some that I end up not loving. Then it’s time to pass it on to someone who will love it.
So let me show you some ways to use up your old scrapbook paper. In this case it is Christmas themed paper, but really, you can use these ideas year round.
Large Gift Bag
If you have two sheets of the same pattern, you can make a gift bag. You will need a 12″x12″ sheet and an 8″x12″.
On the 12×12 sheet: score 3 sides at 3″ and 1 side at 1″ (this will be the folded back top of the bag)
On the 8″x12″ sheet: positioning the piece landscape, score one end at 3″ and the other at 1″. The other 2 sides are scored at 1″.
Watch the video to see how to snip and assemble. Except, put the tear and tape on the correct side of the last flap…
Small Gift Bag
The small gift bag uses two 6″x6″ pieces of old scrapbook paper. Score at 1 1/4″ on 3 sides and at 3/4″ on 1 side. Both pieces are scored the same.
Watch video to see how to snip and assemble.
Envelope with Old Scrapbook Paper
You can make your own pretty envelope with an 8″x 8″ piece of old scrapbook paper. That size will fit a regular 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card. The Stampin’ Up! Envelope punch board says to align the left edge at 3 1/2″. I love that all the instructions are on the punch board itself so you can refresh your memory any time you want to use it. On the video my original piece was 8 1/4″ square… that’s why it didn’t line up properly. Use 8′ x 8″ and it will work perfectly.
To end up with an envelope fitting a gift card or 3″x 4″ little card (like a Memories and More card) then you need to start with a 6″x6″ piece.
Decorate an Envelope
Great to use up small strips. These types of strips can also be used on cards such as this one.
Gift Tags
Use up even small strips! The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch is perfect for this.
