Poinsettias are very traditional around Christmas and are one of the few plants I can keep alive for a good length of time. So the Poinsettia Petals stamp set from Stampin’ Up! is another way to have that beautiful flower for a long time *smile*

To make it look like the leaves are under the flower I used a technique called masking. I stamped the flower on a sticky note. Then I carefully cut around it, cutting the outside line off.

On my 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the flower with Real Red ink first. Then I covered it with the sticky note.

When the flower is all covered up, stamp the leaves with Garden Green ink around it. When you remove the sticky note, you will see the leaves appear behind the flower like magic. So easy to do! I love the depth it gives without adding extra layers.

I stamped the greeting on a 3/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and then punched the ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. The Real Red mat is 1″ wide with the same punch. A quick way to make the greeting really stand out.

I made the bow with the Braided Linen Trim and attached it with Mini Glue Dots.
