Indeed, with just a few steps, you will have this floral birthday card ready to send. Don’t need a birthday card? Change the greeting! It is very easy to do on this card. Hence, the versatility of this card.
This #simplestamping card uses only stamps, ink and paper. I tend to use die-cuts, embellishments and more on my cards but this simple card is pretty without any extras.
Firstly, start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ as your decorated panel. Using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the flower from the Painted Poppies stamp set.
Then you want to colour your flower. I used the “blob” that comes in the set and inked it with Poppy Parade ink. But before stamping on the panel, I stamped it on a piece of scrap paper. Then I stamped on the panel. This gives you a lighter version of the colour. We call it “stamping off.”
To add texture, I used the smaller “sprinkles” with full strength Poppy Parade ink.
Now to add the leaves, I used Old Olive ink and stamped them around the flower. Make sure to have some leaves going off the panel. That makes it look more natural. Then I used the “sprinkles” again to colour them. Quick and easy!
Choose your sentiment from any stamp set you have that matches the card you want to make. I chose the “Sending You Thoughts” stamp set. This set is free during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order. Now, your panel is finished.
Assemble the card
Adhere your beautiful panel to a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock that is 3 3/4″ x 5″ using SNAIL adhesive.
I used Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″) and popped my panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
That’s it, your floral birthday card is done!
