Cool Handmade Card

Today I am sharing with you a cool handmade card. I did a fair bit of sailing when I was young and lighthouses were crucial. But now, I am living in Ontario and learning to appreciate them in a different way as each one is such a unique building.

Here are some tips for making this card.

First, to make the sun, I punched out a circle on a sticky note. Then I sponged crushed curry ink, keeping the outside darker than the middle of the circle. After that, it was easy to stamp the birds over the sun.

Whereas for the water, I dragged my Seaside Spray ink pad lightly over the cardstock. Yes, direct to paper! Just let the weight of the ink pad do the inking. If it’s too light for you, add a bit of pressure as you can always add more colour.

I stamped the lighthouse and the greeting with Night of Navy ink and then die cut each one. I love that little banner because it has stitching all around it, which is hard to see on the photo.

This cool handmade card is very easy to make with the Sailing Home bundle from Stampin’ Up! You save 10% when you purchase the stamp set and dies together.
