Feathers and Frost

Feathers and frost fit my life right now. Frost, well, it’s winter; it’s cold; there is some snow on the ground… Feathers… Let me explain.

I have chickens in my backyard in Kitchener. Urban chickens. Last winter was a challenge with them but I thought this winter would be easier after all I learned last year. However, they decided they wanted to change their coats, just as it was getting colder outside. They are molting – crazy chickens. There are feathers everywhere in the run and the coop! It looks like a pillow burst in a pillow fight. They have bare patches of skin while it’s cold outside. No more eggs while they are molting and rebuilding their coats.

In contrast, the stamp set Feather and Frost on p. 30 of the Holiday catalogue is so cute, it takes all my concerns away.

feathers and frost christmas cardJoyce made this beautiful card and shared it with us at one of the Team Flourish meetings.

I love the #simplestamping aspect of the card: stamp, ink and paper with a bit of that gorgeous ribbon.

Where are the feathers in Feathers and Frost, you ask? The stamp set also has two very cute birds and some wonderful greetings for Christmas cards. It even has “hand stamped by” stamp that you can proudly display on your cards.
