Easy Card with Strips of Paper

Anyone can make this easy card with strips of paper, even new papercrafters. Your patterned paper needs to be pretty on both sides as you can see both sides.

Easy card with strips of paper. The card base is Fresh Freesia. The patterned paper is Fancy Flora from Stampin' Up! There are 5 strips of patterned paper, a gold branch. The "thanks" greeting if from Sentimental Park from Stampin' Up!
Easy card with five strips of patterned paper

Start with a piece of patterned paper that is 2 1/2″ x 6″ and cut five 1/2″ strips. Keep the order if that is important in the design of the paper. In my case with the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper, it didn’t really matter.

Next, you want to cut a 3 3/4″x 5″ piece of coordinating cardstock. I chose the Fresh Freesia cardstock to match the patterned paper.Take each strip of paper and tear each end. You want to leave some of them longer than others. Fold some ends, leave others just torn. Have fun with this! There is no wrong way of doing this.

Then you will want to choose a greeting that is long and narrow. You will also need some decorations around your greeting. Here I die cut a branch from the Forever Flourishing dies from Gold and Rose Gold Specialty Paper.

For this card, I chose to make the card base the same colour as the panel. But it doesn’t have to be. You can see on the video the other cards I made using the same idea.
