Card for a Friend

Not too much colouring in this card for a friend! Indeed, I used a technique called “spotlighting” that is an easy and great pop for your cards.

card for a friend with the spotlight technique.

I love the Breathtaking Bouquet stamp because it is so versatile! It is a background stamp and is quite large. I generally use my Stamparatus to stamp my image, making sure I know exactly where my cardstock was placed. That way, I can stamp again if it didn’t quite turn out.

When doing the spotlight technique, you want to colour only part of your image and leave the rest not coloured. So I chose one of the flowers on the stamp that I liked and then found a circle die that fit around it.

Then I die cut a scallop circle in basic black cardstock to mat it and be able to pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used Stampin’ Blends to colour, but it was quick and easy because I only did one full flower and pieces around it.

The striped paper is a piece from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. I stamped the greeting from Timeless Tulips in Flirty Flamingo ink and punched it with the Classic Label Punch. Then I glued it to a 1/2″ strip of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, trimming the ends.

This card is now ready for your friend!

Wondering what else you can make with the Timeless Tulips? Check out this bright and cheery card.
